2021-2022 Winter Ubuntu Basketball Organization and Timberwolves Athletic female scholar-tryouts will be held during the times and dates listed below.
All held at the Lincoln Sports Foundation 7600 North 70th Street (Lincoln, Nebraska.
Monday, August 9th
3rd-4th | 6:00-7:15 p.m.
5th & 6th | 7:30-9:00 p.m.
*7:15-7:45 p.m. parent meeting
Tuesday, August 10th
Make Up* | 3rd-6th | 6:00-7:15 p.m.
7th-8th | 7:15-9:00 p.m.
8:45 p.m. parent meeting
*3rd-6th Strongly encouraged to attend Mon

If due to injury, inability to attend due to quarantine, etc., we will provide an alternative for review, including but not limited to prior knowledge of scholar or tentative placement consideration, etc. Each situation will be individually assessed.
Ubuntu will continue the partnership with the Timberwolves Athletic organization. The collaboration provides responsible fiscal oversight expanded the opportunity to increase developmentally appropriate placement, organization growth, and a share on and off-court youth development philosophy.
Season Duration

– November 2021 with all teams being done by February, with most mid-February
Development Staff | Coaches
– Area Youth Developers | High School, club coaching, and various levels of playing experience.
-Numerous non-parent coaches are involved.
– Each is required to pass a required background check annually.
Practice(s) | League | Tournament
– Monday and Wednesday’s | Between 6-9 | 3rd-5th and potentially sixth earlier times
– Open gyms in September and practice start October 11th for some teams by the beginning of November for all.
– All league and tournaments, except for a few occurrences within driving distance and evening, return home. No hotel stays unless the family chooses.
– Each team will play in a league or equivalent.
– Depending on the level, teams will play in 3 (3rd grade) 6 tournaments*
Development Focus
– Individual and graduated game concepts including but not limited to 1v1 to 5v5
– Positionless basketball – Practices have team time built in. However, the focus is to prepare the scholars to play basketball, and each, regardless of height, speed, etc., is that everyone can pass, score and defend various positions. This increases their potential for future success at the high school level, where they may assume a different role.
– Man to Man defensive concepts
League and Tournaments
– All league and tournaments, except for a few occurrences within driving distance and evening return home. No hotel stays unless the family chooses.
Additional On and Off Court Experiences
– Service Outreach Holiday Practice
– Walk Together | All In – Bigger than the final score
2021-2022 initiative
Fees
– All-inclusive, practice, jersey, shooting shirt, tournament, insurance, service-learning, and additional in-season offerings unless otherwise noted i.e., group admission to a high school or college game.
– Confidential payment and fee accommodations are available. NO scholar has ever been turned away due to finances.
