Made in Summer collaborative partners are excited to announce the 2021 female scholar-athlete grade 4th-High School Camp for A Cause Basketball Camps (CFAC) lineup for the summer of 2021. The full-day (8:00-4:00 p.m.) camp will be held Wednesday, July 14th at the Lincoln Sports Foundation and feature Kirk Walker, head woman’s basketball coach at College of Saint Mary’s (Omaha, NE).

Walker’s stellar career includes serving as an assistant coach at the University of Nebraska Omaha, assistant women’s coach at Briar Cliff University, and 22 seasons as a head high school coach in Iowa, where he directed Sioux City North girls’ basketball team to a pair of state championships. A two-time Iowa Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year, a two-time Iowa Girls Coaches Association District Coach of the Year, a four-time IBCA Regional Coach of the Year, was inducted into the Iowa Girl’s Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Each day, campers will learn about the importance of sportsmanship and team play from CFAC staff. Through station work, coaches will focus on teaching such skills as ball handling, passing, shooting, and defense. Campers will be grouped by age and ability.

The day will include a special engagement and motivational presentation that will encourage, elevate, and entertain sports performance instruction and exposure.

We look forward to having you join our CFAC partners and us for a full day of development, competition while supporting area causes Bigger Than the Final Score. After camp expenses, proceeds will go toward the Fight to End Alzheimer’s and Lincoln Sports Foundation.

Camp fee and registration is included with the fees for those who have paid for Made in Summer Sunday Skills and Summer Team fees.

Camp for a Cause is an annual initiative developed by Peter Ferguson | BHS.
