Venable and Lierman Represent Ubuntu in Omaha All Star Game

4 Apr 2021 by Peter Ferguson

Congratulations to Ubuntu scholars Faith Venable (8th Jiles) and Aubrie Lierman (7th Ruben) who were selected to represent the organization in the 20th annual Boy’s and Girl’s Club (Omaha) All-Star Game. Held annually the game represents various talents from across the area including but not limited to Omaha, Elkhorn, Bellevue, and Millard.

Venable will be a freshman at Pius X (2021-2022) and has been with the program since 4th grade.

Program director Peter Ferguson said the following about Lierman and Venable.

“Faith is very deserving of this recognition. The game is about talent which she has but also a showcase of people who are the type of teammates and people you should be off the court. Hard to find someone that represents that more than Faith."

Lierman will eventually play for Waverly High School as a freshman in 2022-2023.

“Aubrie’s versatility as a player translated this year as she embraced a leadership role on her 7th Ruben team and often played with other Ubuntu teams due to injury, quarantine, and need. She didn’t care where, when she just loves to play.”

Often consisting of 5th-8th boy’s and girl’s games the experience was limited to 7th & 8th and a high school Boy’s and Girl’s game. The organization is appreciative of Dave Felici and those involved in hosting this opportunity for area scholars and families.
